You really want the Latin Kings running a Sheriff's Dept?

    2. Wow!!! Because he is Mexican, you're going to accuse him of being a Latin King???? That's pretty far fetched. I know for a fact that Acevedo is not and was not a Latin King. What I do know is Tom Dart laid off front line supervisors with 20+ years on the job. I know that Tom Dart kept his 300+ directors making over 6 figures and still laid off front line supervisors. I know that inmates are still getting pizza parties, yoga classes and are bonding out pretty easily. If Tom Dart wins this election you can blame people like yourself for putting bogus stories out there. Daer has single handedly ruined the Sheriff's department but this is the kind of rhetoric some will hold on to.
      Grow up!

    3. I agree the bottom line is to vote Dart out!!! By any means necessary.

  3. Very Well Said! There is injustice, corruption, discrimination, fraud, racism, & misuse of funds by Dart. Thats just to name a few!

  4. At this point, we all have to be ABD (anybody but Dart). It's weird, but Izzo has not mentioned anything on his FB page about the layoffs and chaos. I'd think he'd be all over it.

    1. He didn’t get the required signatures to be on the ballot. He is done.

  5. Anybody else hear about next wave of layoffs involving deputies? What's the latest?

    6. I'm sure he thought he was going to run as an independent too. Problem is that the dude doesn't bother to research before he talks. To run as an independent in Illinois you need SUBSTANTIALLY more signatures than you do as a party member. For an established party you need signatures equal to one half of one percent of the number of people who voted (that's .05%). For an independent or new party you need five percent. So if you want to run indy, you need ten times as many signatures as a party member to even get on the ballot. And Izzo couldn't get that. I've met his biggest supporter who is quite probably mentally ill, and if that dude is your go-to guy, you're on the wrong side of whatever issue is at stake. And hell, Izzo was campaigning to be the Cook County Sheriff and was trying to collect signatures...In Kane County. And (I know this may come as a shock to some people), but that plan didn't fucking work.

    7. Heard it’s gonna be deputies, some police brass and the merit bosses in electronic monitoring

    8. You heard right my friend and still dart is protecting his clout positions but add correctional sgt to the list as well as Lt postions regardless of any deals the unions had before reality is setting in both the sheriff and county board are requiring supervisors to justify there postions

    9. There are no merit brass in EM.

    10. Em is non merit...those spots are next for supervisor cuts.

  6. You have to get rid of Dart. Not just for the the employees but for the public too. He is increasingly making it unsafe anywhere in Cook

  8. Don't believe Acevedo is a Latin King. But I would vote for a LK over Dart and I'm serious.

  9. Dart is very very very very lucky he doesn't have a good opponent like Garry McCarthy running against him. If his political future went tumbling just a few months earlier with the merit board, masturbators, domestic, all his mess ups he might have a real funded challenger. Everyone is just going to have to survive cause Dart's fourth term is going to be an unmitigated disaster. That merit board mess is a going to be drip drip drip. The Sheriff's police Lt they called hot tub Kelly just filed suit for almost a million including back pay jumping on the merit board band wagon. Wait until Kass gets a hold of that one. Like I said Dart's troubles are just beginning and I predict he will be forced to resign during his fourth term.

    1. Kass won't say anything just just like all the other news readers in Chicago. Everybody just gives this guy a pass. I hope Kelly gets the money and stays out of trouble.

  13. Ed Carik is challenging Acevedos signatures. When will this career crony hack go away? Didn't he get forced out for making racially charged comments?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Carik is running Darts campaign. Dart was so desperate for signatures he hired a guy that got fired for making racist comments. Don't worry Dart this is all going public. Why is a racist running Dart's campaign? Not surprising though when Dart already covered up his Chief of Staff assaulting a black female aide to Dart. How does Dart get away with all this shit and this Acevedo says nothing. he is running a campaign or what.

    2. Why isn't Prekcwinkle who fired Carik not holding Dart's feet to the fire for his racist administration?

  18. llinois, State Representative (1997-)
    Assistant House Majority Leader

A former Chicago police officer, Acevedo was part of a wave of candidates swept into office by the pro-Mayor Richard M. Daley political organization Hispanic Democratic Organization in 1996. Acevedo, then put his shoulder to whatever causes or campaigns Daley might need him to attend to. While HDO was dismantled in 2008 following a series of federal convictions, Acevedo remains closely allied with follow HDO leaders, State Sen. Martin Sandoval, State Sen. Antonio Munoz, Ald. George Cardenas, and Ald. Ariel Reboyras.

Nice press release today from Eddie regarding how the Democratic Party held him and other candidates back. Not understanding the biasis against Acevedo from the Democratic machine. He was the machine!

    Google Chicago HDO.

HDO was the biggest patronage army in the Daley machine until a federal investigation into fraudulent city hiring killed its clout. Although he was never charged with any crime, Eddie Acevedo’s name came up in the corruption trial of HDO leader and Streets and Sanitation Department boss Al Sanchez.

The demise of HDO didn’t end Eddie Acevedo’s efforts to help his friends or family. After he supported giving a $98 million school-construction grant to the United Neighborhood Organization, the group used some of those taxpayer dollars to hire Acevedo’s brothers’ security company.

Neither Alex Acevedo — who recently worked on the campaigns of former Gov. Pat Quinn and Mayor Rahm Emanuel — nor his father returned calls seeking comment.

To win dad’s seat, Alex Acevedo might not need anything more than what he’s likely got already — the support of Illinois House Speaker and state Democratic boss Michael Madigan.

Due to his reliable votes for Madigan’s agenda, Eddie Acevedo has risen through the ranks in Springfield. As assistant majority leader, he’s the highest-ranking Hispanic in Madigan’s House leadership team.

It’s hard to think the Acevedos would put their succession plan in motion without Madigan’s blessing.

Lately, though, Madigan’s organization hasn’t been enough to carry every second-generation Democratic loyalist in Chicago. A daughter of Madigan ally Joe Berrios lost her House seat last year to Will Guzzardi, who managed to unite hipsters and Hispanics in a diverse Northwest Side district.

Eddie Acevedo’s South Side district might not be ripe for a Guzzardi-style challenge from the left of the status quo.

But voters there should demand good reasons to back Alex Acevedo and not just let the House seat get passed down like a family

    He’s definitely a victim!
